Tech Camp Application

Tech Camp is an exciting opportunity in which rising 6th and 7th grade students spend five days engaged in fun and exciting activities alongside professionals in the fields of Material Science,  Nanotechnology,  Alternative Energies, Information Technologies, Aviation and Multidisciplinary Engineering.   Activities are led by technological professionals working closely with middle school students and teachers to create an environment that engages students and captivates their interest in science. 

Tech Camp is a camp where students can "try out" careers. This camp will provide interactive, hands-on projects to facilitate career awareness.  The purpose of UTSI’s summer Tech Camp program is to enhance the middle school student's knowledge of the many career choices available in the job market and open their eyes to the excitement of scientific discovery. This camp focuses on the importance of education and the skills employers are looking for in the workforce of today and in the future!
 

Planned Camp Activities:

  • Introduction to Lasers

  • Fluorescence and Fiber Optics

  • Construct DNA Models

  • Cause and Effect

  • Aeronautics activities at UTSI Airport and AEDC Wind tunnels
